City Attorney
Richard Lerblance
The purpose of the City Attorney is to represent the City in all legal proceedings and matters in which the City has a legal interest, and provide legal advice to the City Council, the Mayor and to other departments and officers of the City.
The City Attorney cooperates and interacts with many outside agencies and entities, such as the County Prosecutor, the various law enforcement agencies, the Secretary of State, other units of local governments, the State Legislature and United States Congress.
The City Attorney prepares and/or reviews all ordinances, contracts, bonds and other written instruments and prosecutes ordinance violations. Additionally, the City Attorney also updates the City Council on all matters of law and changes or recent developments affecting the City.
